Space walkers

I've been keeping these precious ones like some kind of holy statuette
flaunted on my mantelpiece for way too long now!
I'm fully aware of the fact that some of you tend to consider sterile white
boots as fuck-me* boots. But let me point out their obvious coolness
which instead makes them more of a fuck-you** kind of bootie.
And also because they have this space vibe going on. And you know space stuff
is so intentionally uncool that it is doomed to be exalted to 'le nouveau cool' one day.
Which is happening right now as a matter of speaking.
And this brings us to the final step of the calculation: the equation is unsolvable,
space walkers are never gonna be fuck-me* boots.

*Fuck-me shoes, alternatively fuck-me boots, is a derisive slang term for women's
high-heeled shoes that exaggerate a sexual image. The term has been used
by feminists to condemn the women who choose to wear them. It has also been
condemned by other feminists as being amisogynistic term. Wikipedia.
**I kindly advise you not to take this personal.

Black + Peonies

Yes, it's alive again.
I can't deny the fact that lately I've been showing a deep rooted form of hermit behavior.
But winter's been so mean that my physical presence refused every form of
non elementary exposure outside. I consider myself as a child of the sun.
And there's no other explanation than the above mentioned, that justifies me
wearing a pair of awfully light fabric trousers, letting each of them
three degrees pass through, straight to the legs.
And the fact that peonies are the new it-flowers.
I toast to summer.

Streetstyled!

A fashion week without street style photography is like a fat man with no boobs.
You just can't think of one without thinking of the other.
Spotted during Amsterdam fashion week in a leopard ensemble being randomly wild.

Purple paisley

Finally got my J.W. Anderson for Topshop skirt!
There is just so much going on in this skirt that it would haunt me in my dreams
if I didn't buy it. Quilted purple paisley. 100 % pure silk.
Can you honestly say no to that? I literally feel the quilted cushions
when I'm sitting down in this skirt. Spoilt tush on her mini cushioned throne.
And more importantly, I've noticed that this skirt comes with a free
shape wear effect, shoving it all together in one piece. Double win!
You have to be prepared to adopt the baby steps when walking this skirt though.
You can find the skirt on (an insane) sale here at Topshop.
Your welcome :)

Remember the Titans

I thought I was getting over the stud and spike affair. Well... actually only spikes
to be precise. I still love studs. Only me and pointed hardware, we go way back.
I remember buying my first spiked belt at the age of 14. Neon pink with silver spikes.
Oh God, I was a rave kid without knowing it! Since then, they've always had a
compelling force of attraction playing on me. It was not very trending back then,
so I was determined to get my hands/mind on the few pieces that I could find
in high street shops. But as the offer started growing, soon my appetite was dwindling.
I became very selective when it comes to spikes.
It's just that this trend has been exploited so violently that I cannot think
of it without having a bad aftertaste in my mouth(yet I don't mean to be offensive
to anyone who loves spikes). But what I am trying to tell you is that I've found
this piece of jewelry that made my heart skip a beat. I'm talking about the
Titan collection of Vita Fede. The label was launched in 2007 in LA and
is handcrafted in Italy. I know what I said before about spikes but I heard these
cone end bangles whisper in my ear that they transcend the trend.
Do I think it's  worth investing in a - not so inexpensive - piece of jewelry
that is trend inspired? I don't know. Maybe a piece of jewelry is not suitable
for rational thinking? Anyway, one thing that my gut does tell me,
is to share my love with you guys.
A selection of my favorite. Which is about every single piece.

They come in silver, gold, rose gold and gunmetal,
with or without swarovski crystals or (semi) precious stones.
Stacked or simply on its own, these titans are going nowhere without leaving a solid impression.
You can check and shop the entire collection by clicking here.
